College of Science at the University of Anbar Signs a Twinning Agreement with the "University of Madinat Al-Ilm"

As part of a strategic step toward strengthening academic and research collaboration, the College of Science announced on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, the signing of a twinning and scientific cooperation agreement between the Department of Biology, College of Science, University of Anbar, and the Department of Biology, College of Science, University of Madinat Al-Ilm"

This agreement aligns with the University of Anbar’s vision of fostering openness to other universities and leveraging academic partnerships to enhance educational and research programs. The agreement was signed by the Dean of the College of Science at the University of Anbar, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor, and the Dean of the College of Science at the University of Madinat Al-Ilm, Assist. Prof. Dr. Walid Nassar Raja, following a series of discussions aimed at defining areas of mutual cooperation.

The twinning agreement seeks to achieve several objectives that support the academic advancement of both departments, most notably:

Exchange of academic expertise through reciprocal visits of faculty members to deliver specialized lectures and workshops, contributing to knowledge enrichment and curriculum development.
Joint scientific research, including the launch of collaborative research projects and cooperation in publishing in reputable international journals and databases.
Student opportunities, enabling senior undergraduate and postgraduate students to conduct parts of their research and training in the host university’s laboratories, thereby enhancing their practical skills.
Collaboration in laboratory development, including upgrading scientific laboratories, equipment, and instrumentation in accordance with best international standards.

Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul-Ghafoor affirmed that this twinning agreement will open new horizons for the Department of Biology through the exchange of knowledge and successful experiences, positively impacting the quality of departmental outcomes and strengthening its international competitiveness.
