In conjunction with the activities of "National Tree Planting Day" and in a scene reflecting a strong sense of belonging to the university environment and commitment to its sustainability, the College of Science launched a large-scale tree planting campaign on Thursday, March 12, 2026. The campaign was attended and actively supported by the president of the University of Anbar, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, and supervised by the dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour.

The campaign, which took place in the college gardens and around its scientific departments, involved the planting of more than "400 seedlings," including evergreen shade trees and aesthetically appealing seasonal plants. This initiative represents a continuation of the college’s efforts to improve the environmental landscape and expand green spaces in line with the goals of sustainable development and the creation of a healthy and clean university environment.

During his participation in planting the first seedlings of the campaign, the university president emphasized the importance of such national initiatives in strengthening environmental awareness among students and the broader community. He also praised the exceptional efforts made by the College of Science’s Deanship and its staff in presenting the college in its best form.

For his part, the dean of the college stated that planting these seedlings is not merely a temporary activity but a genuine investment in the future of the university environment, aiming to transform the campus into a green oasis that encourages students to innovate and excel. He further affirmed the college’s continued commitment to supporting environmental and community-oriented initiatives.
