Students of the Department of Chemistry Conduct a Field Visit to the Blood Bank Center
As part of its continuous efforts to enhance the practical aspect of education and develop students’ field skills, the College of Science organized a scientific visit for fourth-year students from the Department of Chemistry to the Blood Bank Center on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
The visit was carried out under the academic and field supervision of a distinguished group of faculty members, including:

* Asst. Lect. Safa Sabah Awwad
* Asst. Lect. Hadeel Jubair Mayouf
* Asst. Lect. Ayat Khamis (Nanomaterials Research Center)
The field tour aimed to provide students with direct exposure to the latest medical technologies and equipment used in blood collection, analysis, and storage. It also offered insight into the precise workflow within the center’s departments, including donor reception, laboratory testing procedures, and blood type matching.
This visit represented a valuable scientific opportunity, effectively reinforcing theoretical concepts taught in classrooms and linking them to practical applications, particularly in the fields of biochemistry and blood analysis techniques. Students gained important hands-on experience in operating advanced laboratory equipment and handling medical samples safely and efficiently in accordance with professional safety standards.
At the conclusion of the visit, the supervising faculty members and students expressed their sincere appreciation to the management and staff of the Blood Bank Center for their warm reception, detailed scientific explanations, and constructive cooperation, which contributes to advancing both scientific and healthcare development in the province.
