On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, the College of Science welcomed a high-level ministerial committee headed by Prof. Dr. Hiam Adel Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Science at the University of Mosul, tasked with evaluating the scientific and academic situation for the 2024-2025 academic year in the science colleges of public universities. This visit comes within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's commitment to ensuring the quality of education and developing the academic environment in Iraqi universities.
The ministerial committee was received by the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ismat Ramzi Abdul Ghafour, and the assistants, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mishaal Muhammad, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Salman Obaid, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, in addition to the heads of the college's scientific departments.
The committee began its evaluation tour by touring the college's science laboratories, where they viewed the available equipment and facilities, as well as the educational and research environment. The tour also included the college's corridors and classrooms to assess its readiness and preparedness to accommodate students and provide them with the best learning environment. During the visit, the committee heard a detailed explanation from the college's deanship and department heads regarding the college's academic and research plans, curricula, and scientific achievements, as well as the challenges facing the college and its future plans for development and advancement. The committee focused its evaluation on several key areas, including the quality of academic programs, the competence of the teaching staff, laboratory infrastructure, and the college's research output.
